Alright people, Thanksgiving is officially over and Christmas season has begun; and if you are looking for a way to ring in the Christmas spirit, this is just the place. The 2019 Peppermint Lane Holiday Kick-Off & Celebration presented by the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (DMD) will be spreading a whole slew of holiday cheer on Chaparral Street. This free-to-attend celebration will take place on Saturday, November 30th, from 12 – 6 pm at the 300 and 400 blocks of Chaparral. This year’s event will include live music, pictures with Santa, carnival rides, arts and crafts, food trucks, inflatables, and shop small vendors.

Peppermint Lane is an age-old local tradition, established in the 1960s adorning downtown with festive holiday décor and lights to bring the community together with a signature event perfectly kicking off the holiday season.

This year the DMD will debut The Downtown Corpus Christi Coloring Book Volume 1 at Peppermint Lane – the first of its kind for the community. The coloring book features iconic downtown images drawn by Ricardo Gallegos, co-owner of Elevated Screen Printing, and will be for sale while supplies last for $10. Gallegos found inspiration in various downtown landmarks and even looked to local photographers and illustrated a few of their photos depicting iconic shots from the area.

“The holidays are always an exciting time,” exclaims Executive Director of the Downtown Management District, Alyssa Barrera Mason. “We are thrilled to host Peppermint Lane in Downtown Corpus Christi once again and present the first Downtown Corpus Christi Coloring Book!”

Peppermint Lane Holiday Kick-Off & Celebration is part of the 2019 Holiday Event Series, which includes Deck Downtown, Lights in the Park from November 10th – January 6th, and the Mayor’s Battle of the Bulbs presented by Valero Bill Greehy Refineries from November 23rd – January 3rd.

Put those pumpkins away and bust out the Santa hats and candy canes, for the spirit of the holiday season is in full swing!
