The holiday season brings tidings and good cheer with festivals, shopping, and baked goods. This year we’re inspired by events that bring all that holiday goodness and give back to our local community. The YWCA’s Yuletide Luncheon & Market is one of the two fundraisers that support YWCA Programs and Missions of eliminating racism and empowering women.

This Friday, November 8, 2019, the 29th Annual Yuletide Luncheon & Market by-the-Bay brings a one-day shopping extravaganza, motivational speaker event, and luncheon to the Holiday Inn Downtown Marina from 11:30 am – 1 pm.

Shop for yourself or get an early start on your holiday list during the Yuletide Market from 10 am – 3 pm. From local jewelry designers to glass artists selling ornaments, there are a variety of unique items for purchase. The Market is open to the public and free with the purchase of a luncheon ticket or $5 for the Market event only.

However, it’s highly encouraged to stick around and enjoy a delicious lunch and listen to Motivational Speaker, Marisa Ortiz. Presenting ideas from Best Seller, The Four Agreements for Life by Don Miguel Ruiz, Marisa will speak on the ancient Toltec wisdom that advocates freedom from self-limiting beliefs.

“It’s an uplifting and fun event that’s perfect for getting ready for the holiday season,” shares YWCA Executive Assistant Beverly Randolph.

Funds from the Yuletide Luncheon & Market presented by 2019 sponsor Citgo benefits YWCA programs such as YWTeen, a program incorporated into the curriculum of different local school districts for 5th and 6th-grade girls that work to teach self-esteem, how to deal with bullies, leadership, and goal setting.

The work of YWCA Corpus Christi doesn’t end there; funds also help Fitness Connection Programs geared towards senior citizens with limited access to physical activities.

“These programs are vital to our organization. They offer access to so many individuals that need it,” says Beverly. “Through Fitness Connection, individuals with mobility issues, diabetes, heart issues, and others can access swimming, water aerobics, yoga and more.”

Produced by a committee of community volunteers, the Yuletide Luncheon & Market is an opportunity to not only get started with the holiday cheer but invest in the community and YWCA Corpus Christi. For more information, visit
