Take it Back: Local Ways to Watch the Astros

Houston Astros and Washington Nationals meet on the field tonight for Game 3 of the 2019 World Series. The first game begins at 7:07 pm at National’s Park in Washington D.C. and plenty of local spots are open this weekend for you to rock your orange and blue while you chow down and cheer along with family and friends. But the fun won’t stop tonight. Game 4, 5, and 6 will take place all weekend long and we’re here to help plan each of your watch parties.

Grab a seat in the seating bowl or bring your blanket and sit on the field as Whataburger Field plays the game on the big screen. Gates open at 5 pm before the scheduled 7:08 pm first pitch. Enjoy concessions and Astros championship gear and jerseys for purchase. Bring your glove and play catch in the outfield.

“The Hooks are hosting a Watch Party to bring Astros fans together and cheer on the team that means so much to South Texas residents,” says Hooks General Manager, Wes Weigle. “Eight former Hooks are playing in this World Series, including some of the best players in Astros history, which we’re extremely proud of.  Both Brewster Street Ice House locations are open for business, Astros fans. With $2.50 Crawford on deck and food from 11am – 2am, Brewster Street is playing the games inside and out. N. Tancahua St. 

Executive Surf Club is open and serving up delicious grub and drinks while you watch the game. Grab a burger or a shrimp wrap and enjoy each game on all screens throughout the restaurant, including the back bar area. 309 N Water St.

Free buffet and drink specials all weekend long during the game, need I say more? Gators Sports Bar is open until 2am Friday through Sunday. 4610 S Padre Island Drive.

You can also plan to watch the games at Brick Bar and Bites. With over 20 TVs both inside and out, Brick Bar is a great spot to enjoy different drink specials Friday through Sunday and late-night kitchen hours until 1:30 cooking up the tastiest treats am all weekend long. 4535 S Padre Island Dr. 

Hardknocks is serving signature Astros beer Crawford bock, for $3 on draft, along with different shot specials for all watch parties. Order a Double Play, a Redbull and vodka concoction, or try a ‘Stros Bomb with Redbull and Vanilla Crown Royal. Set with over 80 TVs and two projection screens with surround sound, Hardknocks is complete for a weekend full of baseball, food, and fun! 5862 Everhart Rd. 

Lastly, Lazy Beach Brewery is offering 25% off growler fills for beer orders to go, but you can also stick around and watch the game inside the air-conditioned taproom.
