This family owned and operated storefront first opened their doors back in 1960. Originally running as a pharmacy and local soda fountain spot, they're now celebrating how far they have expanded as a company.

Last year the business opened up a new bakery, which was a dream long in the making for the family. Katie Nicholson, granddaughter of the original owner, was ecstatic about this new addition, where they could finally display and sell all their treats from previous pop-ups and local shops. This store has really taken on the role of old dogs learning new tricks.

The family shop is known as one of the last places in the Corpus Christi area to still run a soda fountain, sporting something that young generations can enjoy for years to come. Hamlin Fountain & Gifts also continues to carry jewelry, candles, home décor, and so much more—not to mention their decadent array of pastries from macarons and pies, to cookies and cakes.

Tomorrow marks the big day! For the next two days they will be celebrating 59 years of business with everyone in the community. They will kick off the party this Friday with 59¢ single scoop cones, bubble blowing contests, and all our favorite 60’s tunes will be played by DJ Gonzo. Also, make sure to join in on their trivia games and music contests. They will even be giving out prizes and bakery goods!

On Saturday, they'll be back at it again with 59¢ Coke Floats, a sock hop costume contest, and even more trivia games. Not to mention sales on some of their items in the shop. The party doesn’t stop until 5:30 pm on Saturday, so don’t miss out on this local hot-spot.

Just make sure to wear all your 60’s attire to capture the charm of the era in their photo booth!

You can find them at 3801 S Staples at Weber Rd. or for more information, visit their Facebook page.
