Gone Fishing with Roger Creager

A new event is coming to Corpus Christi this summer and with the tagline: “Tight lines and good times”, it is sure to be one good time. The combination of a mission to bring more homegrown events to the area and Roger Creager’s dream of hosting his very own fishing tournament turned out to be a match made in heaven.

“Staying true to his South Texas roots and his love of the saltwater’ Creager unveiled his latest creative endeavor, welcoming fellow artists, anglers, and fines alike back to his hometown for his very own signature event – Roger Creager’s Coastal Bender,” said Liz McCampbell via a press release from American Bank Center.

At a press conference earlier this morning, Creager expressed how he has always tried to take where he is from to where he is going; and, with an event like this, he truly is bringing that motto to fruition. “When this started to really take shape, it became a no brainer,” Creager said in regard to why Corpus Christi is the perfect place for this event. “ The infrastructure is here, the culture is here, and this is my hometown. We want to get people from all over down here and have them fall in love with Corpus Christi.”

Presented by Gulf Coast Marine and in Partnership with the American Bank Center, the inaugural event will be packed with elements all unique to the Texas Gulf Coast. A five division fishing tournament, a concert (which Creager himself will play at, of course), an outdoor expo, BBQ, activities for the whole family, and a boat show will all be aspects of the event.

The Coastal Bender is set to take place this August 1st through August 4th at the American Bank Center, overlooking the Corpus Christi Bay!

Early Bird Fishing Tournament registration is currently open and General Admission and VIP tickets to the concert will go on sale later this week, April 12th at 10 AM. The full concert lineup will be announced at a later date!
