Meet Kathryn Andreas

“Macarons are famously hard to make. Up until I tried baking them, I thought I could make almost anything. I had been baking for most of my life. But macarons really challenged me, and I had to practice many times to finally perfect them.”

What is the craziest flavor combination you've ever created?

 
Dark Chocolate Absinthe was definitely unusual! And more recently I made a Maple Bacon macaron, with a whiskey infused maple bacon jam in the middle. 

If you could be a macaron, what kind would you be?
 
I would want to be one of my unicorn macarons! Cute, magical, glittery, sweet. I definitely have a thing for unicorns; I even got one tattooed on my arm. 

We've heard about your crazy sleep (or lack thereof) schedule. How do you get everything done in a day that you need to?

The short answer is: I don't! I work almost every day and still don't finish. I insist on adding those special, extra touches to my macarons, and it makes the lack of sleep all worth it to see happy customers, especially the kids. I'm so happy to get to be a part of their special days.
