Get ready to be immersed in beautiful sights, sounds and scents because the Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures will be celebrating the exhibition opening of Bollywood In Colour & Sound this Saturday, September 8.
Bollywood In Colour & Sound is an interactive, family-friendly event that will have activities for all ages to participate in. The event has free admission and parking. Food vouchers are currently on sale for $10 per 12 tickets and will be sold for $1 per ticket at the door. These vouchers can be used to purchase delicious food, drinks, and activities from the vendors.
This exhibition event will feature artists from the Coastal Bend and the Austin area. There will be music, multiple Bollywood and Classical Indian Dance performances as well as a few Bollywood dance lessons, so you can show all your friends what they missed out on. Different Indian food vendors from around Corpus Christi will be showcasing authentic Indian cuisine and multiple henna tattoo artists will also be on site.
As the museum expands to include this exhibition they ask that you also grow to embrace and learn about Indian and other Asian Cultures. “America is a melting pot of cultures,” Pooja Bindingnavele from the museum said. “It is important that we understand each other’s communities and cultures so that we foster an environment of respect and acceptance.”
